Decoding AI: Navigating the Potential and Pitfalls of Future Intelligence

  • Toronto Reference Library - Hinton Theatre (3rd Floor) 789 Yonge Street Toronto, ON M4W 2G8 Canada (map)

You don’t have to look far to notice the implications of rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) in today’s world. From generative content creators to self-driving vehicles and uncannily accurate recommendation systems, it feels like AI is everywhere. In the right hands, they can be beneficial to all. But in the wrong, AI can amplify human bias, enable dangerous frauds, devalue artists and harm vulnerable people.

This Fall, join RCIScience in partnership with the Toronto Public Library for a panel discussion exploring how AI is reshaping industries and everyday life, and opening the doors to technological innovation at unprecedented speeds. Our expert panelists are here to answer your AI questions. What is it? What can it do, really? And as we ride the wave of AI's progress, how do we navigate the uncharted waters of responsibility, privacy and bias?

If AI is a mirror to humanity, do we like what we see?

This is the first event of the annual Love Family Endowed Series.
