Ways to Give

Our work has never been more important.

Since 1849, RCIScience has been committed to building a stronger Canada through an informed public that embraces science. With your support, RCIScience’s free, engaging and informative programs connect Canadians directly with scientists, increasing science literacy, fostering science culture and countering science-related misinformation.

Thank you for being a part of our vital work of connecting Canadians with trusted science.

  • One-Time or Monthly Gifts

Donate online or send a cheque, made payable to RCIScience, to RCIScience, PO Box 65129, Toronto, ON, M4K 3Z2. Tax receipts will be issued for donations above $20.

  • Gifts of Securities

If you hold securities that have increased in value, donating them directly to RCIScience eliminates the capital gains tax, and you’ll receive a tax receipt for the value of your securities on the day you transferred them.

  • Legacy Giving

Leaving a gift to RCIScience in your will is a powerful way to make a lasting contribution to RCIScience’s work. If you choose to leave a gift to RCIScience in your will, your lawyer will need the following information:

Legal name: Royal Canadian Institute, operating as RCIScience

    Charitable registration number: 13163 5286 RR0001

Corporate Giving Programs

Did you know that your employer may match your gift to RCIScience at no cost? Every year, thousands of companies match employee donations through corporate giving programs. By making use of your employer’s corporate gift matching program, your gift to RCIScience can be doubled and even tripled!

Here are three ways to find out if your employer has a matching gift program:

  1. If your employer uses Benevity for its corporate matching program, find out how to make your gift to RCIScience through that platform.

  2. Check to see if your employer is on the list of the companies with matching gift programs listed below.

  3. If your employer is not listed, check with your Human Resources department, as they may have a matching gift policy in place.

If you’re not sure if RCIScience meets the criteria for your company’s matching gift program, contact our Executive Director, and we’ll be glad to send you a description of our mission and programming.

“I do not regret the time I have spent (although I deeply regret many other things) and the zeal shown in bringing into existence and into active operation the “Canadian Institute” because I believe it is calculated to do great good to my adopted country, and to begin the New Year well, have now resolved to provide for it an endowment of £1,000 when all that is mortal of me returns to its mother dust, the interest of which to be annually expended in furthering the objects of the society. To effect this object I have already taken steps to assure my life for that sum.”
