Science is a Drag

  • Melody Bar, Gladstone Hotel 1214 Queen Street West Toronto, ON, M6J 1J6 Canada (map)

Sometimes science really is a drag, so let's put some rhinestones on it and MAKE IT A PARTY!!  πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰

The first of its kind, #ScienceIsADrag is a free event where Scientists will be challenging the cis/heteronormative stereotypes of science with entertaining drag performances and interactive science presentations! Come for dinner, drinks & drag - stay for the science!! 🍻

If you wanna grab the best seats, we'll have science demos and queer science art for sale starting at 6pm. Show starts at 7pm, and includes prizes plus lots of time for questions. Our host & headliner is the legendary @Champagna Drag, BENT Beauty Supreme 2019! πŸ‘‘

Many of our performers are seasoned science communicators but will be in drag for the first time! To cheer them on (and because it's fun!), we encourage all attendees to dress up for the occasion - there may just be a prize for the most spirited audience member!

Please RSVP via Eventbrite! The event is completely free, but drag show etiquette is to bring tips for our incredible headliner & bar staff.

This inaugural event is being Co-Produced by Science.Sam, Herc’d on Science, Geith Maal-Bared, and Royal Canadian Institute for Science. We're stoked to be partnering with The Gladstone Hotel as our venue sponsor.
