Sustainable Futures: Gender, Health and Climate Change (2025)

In honour of Women’s Month, this virtual, multidisciplinary panel event, organized by Falling Walls Female Science Talents and Falling Walls Engage, focused on the vital role of female leadership in climate change and adaptation. It highlighted how women across science, business, and society are driving sustainable solutions and shaping the future of climate resilience. By combining their networks and expertise, both Falling Walls projects joined forces to amplify women’s contributions and foster collaborative solutions for a sustainable future.

As we work toward a healthier and more sustainable future, it’s essential to recognize the vital role women* play in driving change. Women’s health is deeply tied to historical, social, and economic inequalities – many of which are worsened by challenges such as climate change. From health impacts to resource access, women are at the forefront of both experiencing and addressing these pressing issues. This panel brought together experts from gender studies, healthcare, and sustainable practices to explore how climate change affects women, and how female* perspectives and solutions are crucial for building a sustainable future.

In this insightful discussion, our multidisciplinary panel discussed the intersections between gender, climate solutions and resilience, with a focus on healthcare access, environmental sustainability, and innovative approaches to both individual and community wellbeing.
