Wáhta Teachings

This resource (available in two interactive formats) was developed to celebrate Science Literacy Week and National Forest Week in order to pay tribute to Wáhta, the Kanyen’keha, or Mohawk, word for what English speakers call the sugar maple. In Wáhta Teachings, Traditional Indigenous Knowledge and the science of sugar maples appear side by side.
