The 2020 Sandford Fleming Medal is awarded to Professor Timothy Caulfield, University of Alberta
The 2020 Fleming Medal for Excellence in Science Communication goes to Professor Timothy Caulfied for his tireless work addressing questionable health advice spread through popular culture and for inspiring other Canadian scientists to do the same.
Remembering Deborah Zamble, RCIScience Board Member
RCIScience is saddened by the loss of one of our most devoted supporters, Dr. Deborah Zamble. Deborah served on the Royal Canadian Institute’s Council and then Board for many years, starting in 2006.
The 2018 Sandford Fleming Medal
RCIScience awards the 2018 Fleming Medal to Dr. John Smol of Queen’s University. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the public understanding of science by a Canadian.
The 2018 Science Scholarship
RCIScience awards the 2018 Science Scholarship to Reema Bhardwaj. This awards helps a student who might not otherwise be able to attend a University science program.

The Royal Canadian Institute for Science (RCIScience) is delighted to welcome Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, as our Honorary Patron.
