Heroes in a half-shell–Turtle Power! 🐢

Discover our shelled neighbours and their nesting grounds as our turtle expert guides us on a leisurely walk through Evergreen Brickworks to share some turtle behaviour and ecology facts, what it’s like to be a turtle researcher and the life lessons these shell-dwellers can teach us.

About the Speaker

Reta Lingrui Meng

Reta is a PhD candidate at McMaster University working on Blanding's Turtle conservation by weaving Indigenous Knowledge and Western Science to create recovery plans. She is a lover of all turtles and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors!


Event Logistics 

Wear comfortable footwear and dress appropriately for the weather and terrain. The walking pace will be gentle and there will be extended periods of standing. 

This is a rain or shine event. In the event of severe weather, e.g. thunderstorms, we will make an informed decision on the day and notify attendees as soon as possible via the email they register with.

RCIScience will be filming and photographing this event. By attending, you consent to the use of your image and likeness being used in promotional materials.

If you are feeling unwell on the day of the event or have had a recent exposure to COVID-19, please cancel your ticket on Eventbrite or contact us so that it may be allocated to the waitlist.
