Explore today’s most topical science questions with acclaimed Canadian scientists

RCIScience hosts a variety of events, both in-person and online, covering a wide spectrum of scientific disciplines. From panel discussions to documentary screenings, variety shows and cooking demonstrations to nature walks, we’ve got something for everyone. Visit What’s On to explore the latest issues in science or check out our RCITalks archive, covering everything from microbiology and cosmology to psychology and aerospace engineering!

Science is a Drag

RCIScience is proud to support the world’s first fully science-themed drag show, Science is a Drag – a Science Engagement initiative by and for the LGBTQ2SIA+ community. Taking an intersectional approach, it challenges the cis, white and heteronormative structures in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) to create a community where people can share and engage with science in a manner that is authentic and welcoming.

Instagram Takeovers

We often open our Instagram platform to engaging scientists to share their research with our community in novel ways. Follow @RCIScience on Instagram to see the latest.

Science Dinners

Our science dinners provide a fun evening of great food and scientific exploration, celebrating Canadian science and supporting RCIScience. Each table is hosted by an expert in research, science communication or science policy. Throughout the night you can find yourself talking about everything from cancer to quantum mechanics and fish populations to innovation incubators! Please note our Science Dinners are currently on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Foundation Lectures

The Foundation Lecture features Natural Science and Engineering Council (NSERC) award-winning scientists in a lecture to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Institute founding in 1849. Learn more.
